Cameron Gatt has been a leading member of Geelong Thunder BMX since he was eight years old. His rise to stardom has been rapid, contributing to greater recognition of the sport within Geelong and Victoria more broadly. A multi-time state and national championship winner, in 2023 Gatt became the World Champion for the 15–16 cruiser class. This was a title he successfully defended the following year, in South Carolina, making him a back-to-back World Champion. Gatt was named Victorian Young Athlete of the Year in 2023, and in 2025 he was awarded AusCycling’s Junior BMX Male Athlete of the Year.
